How do I import my past transactions?

I have 1000s of past transactions from my brokerage and almost 20 transactions every month. How do I import this in Kubera? Do I have to enter it one by one?

In Kubera you don't start by entering transactions per se. You start by adding the stocks by choosing the ticker symbol and their current total quantity. This shows you the current value of the asset. As Kubera is a net worth tracker, this is the primary use case.

After entering the stock in Kubera, I bought some more of it. How do I enter it?

You just update the quantity.

E.g. If you had 10 Apple stocks, and you buy 5 more, you update the quantity to 15 in Kubera. After this if you sell 5, update the quantity to 10.

If I don't enter the buys and sells how do I see the rate of returns?

You enter a far more simpler 'Cash Flow' for the asset. You simply enter the money you invested (CAN IN) and the money you withdrew by selling the asset or by dividends or interest (CASH OUT). No price. No quantity.

E.g if you bought 10 shares for $10, you enter the Date and Cash In: $100

Based on the cash flow and the current value, Kubera calculates the IRR of the asset. Cash flow works for all kinds of assets. Not just stocks. Read more details about Cash Flow and IRR here >> https://help.kubera.com/article/79-irr-of-my-investment-in-kubera

So coming back to my original question, do I have to enter 1000s of past cash flow entries and 20 entries per month going forward?

Not necessarily. You can start with a total Cash In and Out till date. Or you can even start with the current average cost basis as the first Cash In entry. From then on you can enter the cash flow entries regularly as you go. There's no need to add 20 cash flow entries every month, even though you can. Just enter it once at the end of the month with the total Cash In and Out for that month.
