The contribute rule in Fast Forward is not working

I'm trying to contribute $1000 per month to an investable asset, but it makes no difference to the net worth. What am I doing wrong?

To have an impact on your net worth, the Contribute Rule should be paired with a Growth Rule specifically for the target asset (the asset you're contributing to), assuming it's something other than cash.

Here’s why: the Contribute Rule moves funds from cash to your target asset, but if the target asset doesn’t have its own growth rate set (or if it shares the same growth rate as cash), this shift alone won’t affect your net worth.

Since Cash is part of Investable Assets, if your only growth rule applies broadly to all Investable Assets, then reallocating funds from cash to another investable asset won’t change your net worth.

To make this work, try these steps:

  1. Add a growth rule for the target asset or asset type to ensure it has a distinct growth rate.
  2. If you're contributing broadly to Investable Assets, set a lower growth rate for Cash, so transferring from Cash to Investable Asset with higher growth rate impacts your net worth.
