How do I quickly update the asset's current value from a past date onwards?

Consider a scenario where you've added a private investment in Kubera, but the valuation report for this investment arrives with a delay.

For instance, on January 15th, you receive a report stating the investment's value as of the previous quarter's end, December 31st.

How should you then update this asset's value in Kubera?

Navigate to the Asset details by clicking the four-line icon to the right of the asset row. Once there, go to the Value tab and access the Value history table. Here, insert a new row and enter the date 31 Dec 2023 and input the reported value.

Don't forget to also update the same value for today's date.

Now consider a situation where the currency of this investment differs from your portfolio's base currency.

The Value history table will have daily entries to account for fluctuations in the exchange rate between the asset's currency and the portfolio's currency.

After recording the investment's value as of December 31st, it's important to ensure this updated value is reflected on all the subsequent dates till today.

To simplify this process, after entering the Dec 31st value, click on the three dots and select 'Copy value to rows above' to quickly update the value for all the dates post Dec 31st.
