How do I correct the value of an asset for a past date?

Go to the details of the asset (click on the '4-line' icon on the right side of the row).

In the 'Value' tab, you will see the table that shows the value as of now on the top row and for the historical dates below it.

Spot the date that has an error. Click on the value column and type the correct value.

Or click on 'Add history' button or click on the 3-dots to insert a row and enter the value for a past date.

Important

We recommend starting fresh and letting Kubera build your asset history from the day you begin using it.

This feature is mainly intended to correct the value of an asset for a past date—after you’ve started tracking it in Kubera—if there was an error.

It's not recommended to add historical data to newly added assets in an attempt to recreate your full financial history from before you signed up. Unless you do this with extreme accuracy for every row, it will throw off all calculations and charts, and reconciling it later can be a real pain.

This is especially tricky for brokerages with holdings, you’d need to enter the history for both the account and each individual holding. Plus, you may have held investments in the past that you no longer own. It’s simply not practical.
