[Web Sync] Sync bank and brokerage accounts using your AI Assistant
If Kubera can't connect to one of your banks or brokerages or if the connection breaks frequently, you'd normally track that account as a manual entry and update it by hand. With Web Sync, your AI Assistant does that for you. It visits your institution's website, reads your balances and holdings, and keeps the numbers in Kubera up to date.
What you'll need
- A paid ChatGPT, Claude or Grok subscription
- The assistant's desktop app (Web Sync might not work in the browser or mobile versions)
- If you're using ChatGPT, switch to Work mode
Step 1: Connect Kubera to your AI Assistant
If you haven't already, go to Kubera Settings > AI Assistants and follow the steps to connect your account.
Step 2: Start the sync
Open the AI Assistant's desktop app, start a new chat, and paste the following, replacing Institution_Name with the name of your bank or brokerage:
Sync my Institution_Name account with Kubera. Instructions: kubera.com/ai
Step 3: Follow the assistant's prompts
The assistant will open your institution's website in its built-in browser and ask you to log in and grant it permission to proceed. From there, it will:
- Navigate to your account details
- Review your balances and holdings
- Confirm the numbers with you
- Add or update the matching entries in your Kubera portfolio
Think of it as a remote assistant who looks at your account page and updates Kubera for you. You stay in control the whole time and can redirect, pause or correct it through the chat.
Keep it running automatically
Once a sync works the way you want, you can schedule it to run on a regular basis so your accounts stay current without you having to do anything.
More than syncing
Since your AI Assistant is connected to Kubera, you can also ask it questions about your portfolio or have it create custom reports that Kubera doesn't offer out of the box.
