Why Some 2FA Accounts Don’t Auto-Sync
Many connected accounts with 2FA won’t auto-sync, as they require a 2FA code (OTP) each time a connection or sync is attempted.
If a connected row with 2FA hasn’t been updated for over 48 hours, click the 3dots and hit Sync Account. This will trigger the re-authentication process, where you’ll be prompted to enter the 2FA code. Once entered, the system will fetch the latest data.
Yes, we know—it’s a bit of a hassle. But unfortunately, that’s how it works for many bank integrations that don’t yet support modern or Open Banking APIs. A good practice is to sync these accounts once a week or twice a month, as doing it daily can be unnecessarily tedious.
If you’ve hit Sync Account and it still doesn’t update, feel free to reach out to us at hello@kubera.com. Please include as many details as possible about the error you’re seeing so we can help troubleshoot more effectively.
