How do I enter the transactions for my stocks?
In Kubera you don't start by entering transactions per se. You start by adding the stocks by choosing the ticker symbol and their current total quantity. https://help.kubera.com/article/37-how-to-track-stocks-and-mutual-funds
This shows you the current value of the asset. As Kubera is a net worth tracker, this is the primary use case.
When you make a new trade, just update the stock quantity to see the updated value of your stock. Go to the asset details (click on the 4-line icon on the right side of the asset row) and update the quantity.
E.g. If you had 10 shares and you bought 5 more, you update the quantity to 15 to see the value of 15 shares of the stock. After few days you sell 5 shares, you come and update the quantity to 10.
Once your stock (and other assets) is added, optionally you can enter the money you invested (CASH IN) and the money you withdrew by sales and dividends or interest (CASH OUT) to see the rate of returns. No price. No quantity.
E.g if you bought 10 shares for $10, you enter the Date and Cash In: $100
Based on the cash flow and the current value, Kubera calculates the rate of returns (IRR) of the stock.
You may enter Cash flow for all kinds of assets. Not just stocks.
