Ownership tags
Tag assets, sections, sheets, and portfolios by owner. It helps you see how your wealth is distributed across people, trusts, and other entities without having to create separate portfolios for each owner.
How it works
You can assign ownership to a person or trust. Kubera rolls up the value of their assets and debts to show their net worth by owner in the Ownership screen on the sidebar.
You can set ownership at the:
- Portfolio level
- Sheet level
- Section level
- Asset level
Ownership set at the portfolio, sheet, or section level applies to the items below it. You can override it for individual assets or debts when needed.
How to assign ownership
To assign an owner:
- Go to any asset or debt details (click on the 4-line icon on the right side of the row).
- Go to the Assorted tab.
- Select Ownership.
- Set the owner.
You can also set ownership at the portfolio, sheet, or section level.
Ownership vs. Nested Portfolios
Ownership is designed for keeping everything in one portfolio while tracking who owns what. It's useful for getting the big picture, consolidated reporting, and easy management.
For more complex structures, give each person, trust, or entity its own portfolio — with independent views, granular access control, and money flows tracked between them — use Nested Portfolios instead.
Ownership tags and Nested Portfolios are exclusive to Kubera Black users.
